Cooper-Young Festival This Weekend

The 23rd annual edition of Cooper-Young Festival — a celebration of arts, mu sic and crafts in the historic Midtown neighborhood — will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 18.

The event, which is focused at the intersection of Cooper Street and Young Avenue, will feature nearly 400 artisans from around the country displaying their wares, local and national musical acts performing on three stages, as well as a children’s area.

The festival event also includes a kickoff party/art invitational on Sept.ember 16 at the David Perry Smith Gallery, at 703 New York.

On Sept.ember 17, the Festival 4 Miler run will be held take place starting start at Bluff City Sports, 769 S. Cooper. Those interested in participating in the run should con tact Maggie Cardwell at 272-2922.

The rain date for the event is Sept.ember 19.
