Year to date, average sales price stood at $128,043 – up 0.3 percent from 2009. Total sales declined 29 percent from October 2009, when the first-time home buyer tax credit gave sales a boost. Inventory from September to October decreased 2.9 percent with 9,126 units listed for sale. Overall sales volume through the first 10 months of 2010 was $1.52 billion.
Historical home sales statistics are located at www.maar.org/marketreports.

“The average sales price numbers would suggest the market is starting to become more stable,” said MAAR President Glenn A. Moore. “We also know the general economy still has some work to do.”
